We have another classic quote to add to Richard’s Hall of Fame, courtesy of grocery shopping last night:
At the grocery store, as I’m putting a jar of honey into the basket:
Richard: We don’t need any honey; we already have some at home.
Me: No, we don’t. I used it all.
Richard: Whatever you say…
Later on at home, Richard is poking through the pantry:
Richard (triumphantly raising a plastic bottle): See? I told you we have honey!
Me: That’s maple syrup.
Richard: It’s the same thing!
Me: No. It’s not.
Richard: Whatever. You say “poop,” I say “crap.”
The effortless beauty and eloquence of that analogy just really touched me, you know?
